Variety is the very spice of life that gives it all its flavor. The world of vaping is indeed a vast and somewhat unexplored dimension for millions of people around the world still yet to discover vaping. Firstly, a vaporizer is an electronic device that turns certain ingredients such as e-liquids dry herbs and concentrates into vapor for inhalation without burning them. There are different types of vaporizers on the market today explicitly made to suit the needs and preferences of the people. I know, “there are so many tasty options,” but while many of them may have similar parts and use the same basic working principle, deciding which type of vaporizer to use can be a very tricky decision.

So what are the different types, and how do you know which vaporizer is best for you? In this article, we’ll be reviewing the different types of vaporizers on the market today so sit back, relax and enjoy.

Borrowing one feature in particular from its unrelated distant uncle-cousin-brother-sister, the Desktop computer (you get the gist), Desktop Vaporizers are basically left on the desk or tabletop. These types of vaporizers are usually connecteddirectly to an electrical outlet or receptacle, which means they don’t require batteries to function, which also means they last longer than the portable vaporizers and give an uninterrupted experience.

Because of the higher energy source that feeds the desktop vaporizer, they can reach temperatures as high as 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

There are only two types of Desktop Vaporizers, often called the standard vaporizer.

1. Whip-style Vaporizers. As the name suggests, most whip-style vaporizers have a silicone tube through which the vapor is inhaled. You must have seen this type of desktop vaporizer in gatherings and parties where friends sit in a roundtable, huff and puff, and pass around the pipe. The whip-style vaporizer has two major parts — a whip and the heating element. The whip is the part that has a mouthpiece, a wand, silicone tubing, and a storage chamber for the dry herbs.
2. Forced Air Vaporizers. These types of desktop vaporizers are actually new designs, and they utilize an internal propulsion system to propel hot air through the chamber containing your herbs or essential oils. They usually have a balloon bag attached which collects all the vapor. While it may sound all fancy, this type of vaporizer is much more expensive than the whip-style desktop vaporizer.

Desktop vaporizers in general work using a convection heating system. There are a lot of really cool desktop vaporizers available on the market, with one of the most popular brands being the Volcano.

For every desktop device, there is most likely a portable version out there for lovers of things mobile, and the vaporizer isn’t going to be left out. These types of vaporizers, often dubbed “handheld vaporizers, are small in size and require high-capacity rechargeable batteries to produce all the heat that it needs to vaporize your herbs and oils.

The portable vaporizers became a big hit largely due to their size, quality of material, reliability, durability, and concealment. The 4 different types of portable vaporizers include:

1. Portable Oil Vape Pens. Though they could be as small as your thumb, this type of portable vaporizer is basically made for vaporizing oil. Some have oil containers that can be refilled, and others have non-reusable oil containers.
2. Portable Dry Vapes. This type of portable vaporizer only uses dry substances or herbs, and they come in more variety than oil vape pens. There is usually no combustion, which means that there’s no smoke involved.
3. Portable Wax And Concentrated Vapes. They have the same working principle as the dry vapes. Usually considered to be the cleanest, the wax is heated to produce concentrated vapors.
4. Portable Dry And Oil Together. There was always bound to be a super vape that combines all the attributes of the dry, oil, and wax vapes. This type of three-in-one portable vaporizer gives you the ability to switch and use all three substances.

So which is better in a typical matchup: Desktop vaporizers vs. portablevaporizers? It all depends on individual preferences and of course, how large your pocket is. Desktop vaporizers, however, have better temperature controls than their portable counterparts. The fact is that electronic vaporizers have come to staywhether portable or desktop, so embrace them and enjoy quality vapor both at home and on the go.
